If you've read my Sephora Wishlist post, you will know that the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette was one of the things I was most exciting about purchasing when I go to Florida in a few weeks time. Fortunately for me, I managed to get my hands on it early. Combining a £20 Debenhams gift card and £5 worth of points on my beauty club card I managed to get this palette for just £12! I know I'm late to the party with this but I couldn't wait to try out all the amazing shades and thought why not include it on my blog!
On to the basics first - the palette contains 12 different shades, 3 mattes and 9 shimmers, all of which are encased in a beautiful rose gold metal case (much better than the Naked 1 cardboard packaging in my opinion). All of these eyeshadows have pink undertones which I absolutely adore. Like the Naked 2, it comes with a dual-ended brush and a set of 4 primer potion samples which I think is a great idea. I already have the original primer potion and a set of samples so I will be passing these on to my friend Sarah so she can try them out.
Now on to the stars of the show..
Strange - This is a gorgeous light peach colour that I think will be perfect for highlighting under the brow.
Dust - This is actually my least favourite eyeshadow as the texture isn't as creamy as the rest. It will probably look nicer when used wet.
Burnout - I really love this colour as I think it would look perfect as an everyday shade on the lid.
Limit - I think this colour would be a perfect transition colour to blend out other eyeshadows.
Buzz - Although this is another micro-glitter like Dust, this one is a lot more pigmented and the colour is just beautiful (a lot nicer in person than pictured).
Trick - This shade is like no other. I don't have anything like this in my collection - a gorgeous copper colour but more pink toned, I love it!
Nooner - Another amazingly pigmented matte shadow. Although quite similar to Limit just a little bit darker.
Liar - A lovely shimmery brown shade which I think would look really nice in the outer v for a subtle smokey look.
Factory - Another deep brown shade that is quite similar to Liar which I think would also look great smudged on the lower lash line.
Mugshot - This colour would look amazing on its own just on the lid with lashings of mascara. I can see myself reaching for this colour quite a lot.
Darkside - This brown shade has a deep purple tint to it which I think would look nice in the crease when going for that classic smokey eye.
Blackheart - I absolutely love this shade. It is a matte black but with pink and gold glitters running through it which I find totally unique. (Again, this colour looks much better in person than pictured)
Overall this palette is nothing like anything in my collection at the minute and I am in love with it. Urban Decay haven't let us down once again which every single one of these shadows (with the slight exception of Dust) being intensely pigmented and so creamy to the touch. I can see myself reaching for this palette quite a bit whether it's for day to day looks or to smoke it up a bit for the night time.
If, like me, you love pink toned eyeshadows then I definitely recommend this palette. If you prefer more cool based shadows then I'd personally opt for the Naked 2 or for warmer tones then the Naked 1.
Have you tried the Naked 3? Let me know in the comments your favourite shade..
